SHORT STORY: Same New Song

Charlie sells used pianos. Annette is in the market . . . .

My new short story, “Same New Song,” is now available in the Spring 2025 Print Edition of Allium, A Journal of Poetry & Prose from Columbia College Chicago.

My heartfelt thanks to Managing Editor Marc Meierkort and Allium for selecting a story that was very near and dear to my heart for publication within their pages.

You can pick up a copy of the Spring 2025 Print Edition here.

Visit Allium’s website for more.

Additional thanks to the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge. I wrote this story for the second round of the 2023 challenge, where the prompt was to write a romance story about a salesman. What I originally thought would be a tricky assignment outside of my comfort zone quickly became one of my most personal short stories to date. The story did not advance in the original challenge, but it found a home in the pages of Allium.

Thank you for reading.
